Description   Used to measure chest/abdomen expansion associated with respiratory effort Takes advantage of the piezo-electric sensor's ability to produce a small voltage when stress is applied NO interface or NO external power source is necessary, sensor produces its own signal On each breath the sensor is stressed by the expansion of the chest/abdomen and the voltage produced is amplified by the physiograph to produce a clean, reliable respiratory effort signal
